According to Washington Post, Bank of America is sending cardholders letters detailing their credit card terms. The letter will explain some of the most costly aspects of the credit card like the interest rates and fees. Not all aspects of the credit card agreements are included in the letter.
This letter is not a requirement from the Federal government. Bank of America is doing it on their own. Your other credit card issuers may not follow suit. If you’re curious about your credit card terms on your non-BoA credit card, you check out your credit card agreement. (Unfortunately, credit card agreements are sometimes difficult to understand and may not make your credit card terms any clearer.) A recent copy of your billing statement will also contain some (but not all) information about your credit card terms.
Starting next February, all credit card issuers will be required to disclose important information in your monthly billing statement.

Entrepreneurs, and there are more now than ever before, have a variety of options when it comes to merchant account solutions. The question is no longer should a business take credit cards, it’s what options for merchant accounts best fit a business’s needs?
Not only has credit card payment become America’s payment method of choice, offering credit card services allows easy integration of data into online systems and helps business owners managing accounts and inventory more effectively. Credit cards also enable young businesses to tap into a larger customer base by offering a variety of payment methods.
What New Business Owners Need to Know
Credit card processing requires hardware, software and a good clear understanding of what types of credit card transactions will be typical for a business. Is it online only? Will there be a brick and mortar location? Will checks be accepted? Is it a combination of all of the above?
For online only businesses, credit card processing software is generally included in a basic e-commerce software package. Users can set up an online store with a shopping cart and tap into customer information banks. For b

Is your credit rating good? Do you have an existing plastic? Are you considering getting an instant approval credit card as a second card? I personally know of people who applied and were instantly approved to have another card. These days, it only takes a minute or two to apply online or via telephone. Demand for instant credit probably started when retail stores offered incentives, like discounts, to customers who actually buy in the store. People started to believe that they are getting their money’s worth because of this price slash.
Getting instant approval credit card, though, needs to pass through a qualifying process. Unlike popular belief, being qualified for an immediate approval is not that easy. You have to ask yourself: Am I handling my finances well? Does my history say I am not a delinquent card holder and that I pay-off my dues on time? If you answered yes, most likely your application will be approved. Issuers will have to verify your worthiness for another credit line. It is true that having a low credit score will reduce your chances of getting qualified, but that does not mean credit card companies will not approve you. They will still review your request. H

House Rules Committee Chairman Louise M. Slaughter is reportedly working on legislation that would cap credit card interest rates at 16 percent.
While 16 percent certainly isn’t low, it’s markedly better than the 30 percent interest rates tied to many credit cards these days.
The bill, which is expected to be introduced after the Thanksgiving holiday, is essentially a response to credit card issuers raising rates to offset the effects of the Credit Cardholders’ Bill of Rights.
Those changes, which include the elimination of arbitrary interest rate increases, two-cycle billing, and negative payment hierarchy, are slated to be implemented in February.
But with every new regulation thrown the credit card issuers’ way comes a fresh strategy to make profit some other way, e.g. higher
